We have a reputation for delivering high quality products and services and providing leading-edge product innovation
From generation to generation, Goldings Orthopaedic Centre has been providing prosthesis products to the whole of South Africa. We have progressed steadily over the years (47) to become one of the SA leading orthotics providers.
Established in the 1970’s, by Harold Gavin Golding, the name Golding’s Orthopeadic Centre has been synonymous with quality and excellence, servicing various communities irrespective of colour, creed or financial status. In 1978, Harold Golding partnered with his father, André Golding, also a qualified and respected Orthotist/Prosthetist who having spent much time training and developing his skills in the then Red Cross Orthopaedic Laboratory in Cape Town brought additional experience to the practice. After several successful tenders to serve the government hospitals for the neighbouring homeland of the then Bophuthatswana, the practice grew and developed rapidly and within a few years had expanded to include the custom manufacture and supply of calipers, artificial limbs, wheelchairs and crutches. Before long, expansion into the greater Gauteng and Kwa-Zulu Natal areas followed.
Before long the father-son team identified a real need for an Orthotics/Prosthetics service provider within the private sector and set about establishing themselves in this arena, further expanding Golding’s Orthopaedic Centre. Creating and building on a proud tradition of service excellence, they lead the way with new and advanced technologies and machinery imported from Europe’s leading suppliers. Always developing and honing his skills in the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics, Harold Golding was invited by a leading European manufacturer to attend specialized training in the development and creation of automated prosthetics making him one of the first Orthotists/Prosthetists in South Africa to be trained in the application of electronic prosthetics. A recognised member of several local and international professional associations among them the prestigious American Association of Orthotists & Prosthetists, and the Association of Orthotists & Prosthetists in Private Practice (South Africa), Harold Gavin Golding was well known and highly respected in the industry and his legacy of excellence and professionalism will continue unabated. Harold Gavin Golding passed away in 2003.
From the early days of the father-son duo in 1978 to the current compliment of 22 staff we have today, Golding’s Orthopaedic Centre has always endeavored to lead and not follow. We currently employ four fully trained and qualified Orthotists/Prosthetists and several assistants servicing 6 branches in Gauteng stretching as far afield as Warmbaths in the North. Golding’s Orthopaedic Centre will continues to provide the best service possible to the communities we serve as we have done for the last 40 years.
